Originally built in 1905 at Fort Mott, New Jersey, this remarkable home was transported across the Delaware River by barge by the United States Army to its current location in Fort DuPont, Delaware City. This historic renovation focused on preserving the integrity and architectural significance of the original structure while thoughtfully expanding it to meet the needs of modern living. The project included a kitchen addition and a detached two-car garage, seamlessly integrated with the home’s historic character.

Original architectural details were meticulously restored throughout both the interior and exterior. The exterior features new cedar lap siding and cornice work, fully restored original windows, a new roof and traditional trough gutter system, and a handcrafted mahogany wraparound porch. Inside, the home showcases restored first-floor tin ceilings, original pocket doors and built-ins, three full bathrooms and one half bath, and historically accurate custom millwork that celebrates the craftsmanship of the home’s early 20th-century origins.
